Welcome to the Research Group Plant Systematics

Our research focuses on plant systematics in a broad sense to understand the diversification in time and space as well as how ecological factors are influencing this diversification, and to infer the evolutionary history of morphological traits. This research provides also highly needed data for resolving taxonomical questions as well as clues for floristics. For this we apply a broad variety of methods and approaches including molecular phylogeny, morphology, morphometry, karyology, population biology, and biogeography.
